A prayer walk is intercessory prayer for a specific place or community while being near or at that location. The purpose of a prayer walk to pray for the needs of the community and that ultimately their hearts would be open to the gospel of Jesus Christ. During prayer walks we may encounter people, this is an opportunity to ask them if they have any prayer needs, if they are interested in learning about Jesus Christ, and if the church can help meet a specific need.

Prayer walks are not specifically stated in the Bible but the concept is evident throughout the whole bible.

  • Jeremiah 29:7 Jeremiah tells the exiles to pray for Babylon and it's welfare
  • 1 Timothy 2 states believers should pray for all people
